Green solar energy can be advantageous to the homeowner. Converting to solar power can benefit the owner financially and the environment with the reduction of pollutants.
What are the benefits of solar energy and how can this energy be used by the home owner to power his home?
To know the benefits of solar energy a body must know what solar energy is. Solar energy is put of f my the sun, then converted into heat or electricity by the user. If it is converted into heat it is known as thermal and light energy. Thermal energy is known as passive energy because it is just there. It takes nothing to put passive energy to work except a few design tricks.

Passive Solar Energy Example
By simply facing windows south solar energy can be converted to thermal energy and used to heat the home. Over hangs are implemented to block the suns rays during the summer months, as solar heating is only desirable during the winter season.
Passive solar or thermal energy can be used for the purposes of heating water for use in the bathroom and kitchen and laundry.
This same solar energy can be used for the creating of electrical energy for the homes electrical appliances.
The chief benefit of solar are financial. Converting a home to solar energy can reduce or eliminate the users electrical bill. If the home owner chooses he can construct his system to meet all of his needs and sever the apron strings to the utility company.
Unlike being tied to the utility company where there are no maintenance costs to the home owner, there are few things to maintain with a solar system. Solar panels should be kept clear of obstructions and kept clean as possible for maximum efficiency. If windmills are used there may some periodic repairs. As with all moving appliances some things just do not last forever.
One benefit could be selling unused electricity back to the power company. How cool is that? There could also be some governmental incentives for converting to solar power.
Being able to build ones own solar panels could be a financial blessing as well. With the plethora of DIY instructions on the market, it is possible for the even the most mechanically retarded of us to build or own solar panels, saving thousands of dollars.
Building and installing our own panels is also environmentally helpful as they are non polluting and it cuts down that much, however little it maybe on the pollutions the power company must produce for our use.
Using green solar energy can save the home owner a bundle. And it will make a man out of anyone up to the challenge of being the creator of t their own power and stepping away from the power company and becoming one step closer to being self sufficient.
