Finding Resellable Items at Yard Sales

You can make a profit for yourself by re-selling yard sale items that you purchased. Here are some popular sellers that can be profitable for you.
If you are a yard sale junkie and find that you have too much of the “treasures” around the house, create a business from your finds. You can re-sale yard sale items to flea markets and even e-bay if you know what the top sellers are.
Establish an account on e-bay and drop down the categories and see what items are being sold. Glassware is a popular item. Certain metal toys and trains are also big sellers. Local flea markets like to buy glassware, because they find that it is a big seller in their stores.
Vintage dolls are a special find. If they are in good condition, they can be sold for a nice price. It might mean that you have to take a doll home and wash a dress that it is wearing, but being clean makes it more sell able.
Cash registers are a hot item in the toy category. Those plastic ones are in demand. Old metal toys are also great finds and can be resold for more than one pays for them.
When you go to yard sales, remember to look at the clothing. There are clothing re-sale shops that buy this apparel. Just remember that it must be clean, no damage, and be this year or last year’s style. Purses can be sold at re-sale shops, also. If nothing else, the money earned can be used to re-purchase clothing in these shops for the family.
Furniture, if in good condition, is a good seller. Most people sell their old furniture so that they can buy newer pieces. Check out the furniture and make sure that the frame is in good condition, along with the upholstery.
Knick-knacks are NOT good re-sellers. People tend to shy away from these for resale. Most flea markets are loaded with knick-knacks. Those made in Occupied Japan are still very popular and might be something to resell.
Books, paperback, are great to sell. They, also, do well at flea markets for resale. Hard back books do not sell well.
With an eagle eye and a stong desire to bargain, one can make money by going to yard sales and then re-selling the merchandise. Craigs List is another great place to sell items without leaving the comforts of your house. Make sure that you do not take checks from out of town. Open a pay-pal account and sell your items using this for payment from the buyers. It will be well worth your time and effort to do this.
Remember yard sales are not just for private use, they can be a business in themselves for you.
