It’s difficult to answer this. You would say coffee affects growth of plants. It does, and nobody has any doubts about your comment. But how does it affect?
Why coffee affects the growth of plants? Did you ever notice how plants react after coffee beans are thrown on them? Do it once and observe the growth of plants. It’s not just the caffeine that is present in coffee, which affects the plant.
There are two schools of thought that exist. One school of thought says that coffee do not affect plants in any way, while the other has views that supports the theory that coffee affects plants.
Before you try and understand whether coffee really affects the growth of plants, you should know what the contents of coffee are. What does coffees contain that might affect the growth of plants. Is it caffeine that the coffee has, or potassium and phosphorus that also are two of the ingredients of coffee.
Potassium and calcium does affect the growth of plants, while few debate on caffeine.

You need to understand whether its caffeine or potassium, or phosphorus, Coffee does play a role here. It does affect the growth of plants. There had been experiments that had been conducted by the scientists and agriculturists to prove that coffee plays an active part in helping the plants grow faster.
Though you need to remember, throwing coffee beans on a large quantity would retard the growth of plants. You should get adequate information before you decide to throw coffee beans in your garden. Throwing more than enough will be a waste of coffee, and you would risk chances of losing your plants. Limited coffee will increase growth in plants.
Coffee is more effective if you sprinkle along with water, but why do plants react to coffee. Coffee has elements that affect the growth in plants. It’s not just the caffeine. Nobody is sure of whether caffeine helps the growth in plants, because the role of caffeine is debatable. Apart from caffeine, there are few other elements, such as potassium, and phosphorus that plays a part in helping plants to grow.
You could find many public gardens use coffee on a regular basis. They use coffee to accelerate the growth in plants. A gardener finds himself doing it, to save time. Throwing coffee in his garden also keeps the garden clean. Coffee acts as a good cleanser. Apart from that, a gardener also saves energy by throwing coffee in his garden.

Back in the 50’s When I was a kid, my grandmother always threw coffee grounds out in a certain part of the back yard where the grass wasn’t growing so well. She insisted that coffee grounds made things grow better. In a few months that area of the lawn was the most lush.

Interesting article! I remember my mother putting TEA leaves that had been used, on her planets, but never coffee. We learn something every day.

while i agree coffee does help most plants to some degree this article is written horribly, it doesn’t support any of the ‘facts’ it mentions.how does coffee keep your garden clean?

Coffee is high in nitrogen, necessary in plant growth. The only problem it has is its a bit acidic.
