First of all, when mowing the lawn during the winter months when the weather is not fine for you to enjoy the garden, leave the grass clippings on the lawn and do not clean them up. This may seem like the best way to mess up the garden but the decomposition of the grass clippings will provide extra nutrients to the grass and although will not look particularly attractive can give the grass a boost for when you do come to enjoy it in the spring and summer.

To ensure that your garden always looks lovely why not keep seeds from your favorite flowers that have grown in it? By doing this way you can make sure that you always have seeds on standby to plant new flowers if the others should unfortunately die. You can keep them in pill boxes that you can get for quite cheap and you can also hand these out to family and friends as small gifts with a green fingered appeal or you could plant them in small pots and give them as gifts as well.

In hot weather, to ensure that your water feature is always flowing and does not dry out leaving unsightly marks, make sure that you always have a small watering can of clean tap water to hand. When the feature dries out it can leave awful green marks and by using tap water rather than rain water, the feature should never leave green marks.

Watering your garden wither early on in the morning or late at night is the best time as this prevents evaporation  and you should always try do water the garden when the weather is OK and not really windy. The wind will blow your water all over the place and you will not have control over it so by doing it at night or in the morning in good conditions, you have complete control over the watering and also make sure that the garden gets the water that it needs. You should try and water the garden with rain water to make sure that they thrive.

There are so many tips and hints that you can use for the garden but these are just a few of them that you may find useful.
