Starting a New Garden Bed

Learn how to make a new garden bed for your veggies, fruits or flowers. Its as easy as 1-2-3.

Starting a new garden bed isn’t all that hard and there isn’t much to it. I’ll give you three simple steps on how to get your new garden bed started.

Marking and Digging

To start off, mark off the corners of your soon to be garden bed. If your new to the world of gardening than I would reccomend starting out small. Once the your finshed marking the corners, you can dig. Try to use a spade as this will give you a clean staright edge to the bed. Dig the soil to a depth of 8 inches.

Amending

Now that you’ve dug the soil mixing compost. This is the most organic way you can start a new bed. Keeping it an equal ratio will provide a good supply of nutrients for the plants. Unlike fertilizers, you can never have too much.

Finishing Off

Now that your done mixing, you can remove and rocks, old roots, or debris from the new garden. Level it up with a landscape rake and your good to go!
