Simple Ways to Relax in Your Garden
Find the right way to make your garden your little relaxing paradise.
Relaxingin your own garden is one of the best feelings. However, the problem with most gardeners is that they like gardening to the point that the only thing they enjoy doing is to take care of the garden and nothing else. The thing is that some gardeners get so much obsessed about taking care of their gardens that they seldom find the time to relax in their gardens. If you are one of those gardeners who can’t take their mind off taking care of the garden, here are alternative ways to relax in your garden.
Relax in a hammock.
One of the best ways to spend a lazy weekend afternoon in the garden is to snooze in a hammock. With two-person jumbo hammock available nowadays, you do not need two trees to tie it up. Relaxing in a garden in a hammock has an amazing soothing effect on the body. The swaying motion, coupled with the fact that you are facing upwards enables you to enjoy your garden in a completely new dimension.
Do some painting in the garden.
Even though taking a walk through the garden with a digital camera taking pictures may be perfect, it does not make a genuine way to relax. Instead, discover your creativity by doing some painting. Armed with some cheap canvas and paints, you can create a quality time while doing something that might just as well make you discover your hidden talent.
Prepare a garden picnic.
There is no rule that picnics are only limited to open spaces. Preparing picnic in your garden is a great way to relax your mind, especially if you have kids. The thought of packing a picnic will automatically set your mind in a relaxing mood such that when you finally step out to your manicured garden, your mind will be at peace and ready to face the afternoon easy and cool. Plastic chairs, cafe tables and an umbrella is all you need to make your garden a perfect place for picnic.
Play croquet.
Playing a game of croquet through your garden is an excellent way to kill time and end a rather boring day. The beauty is that you do not need a lawn to play the game. Even though it is more engaging when there more players, you can still have fun even if you are only two people. There are more creative ways to play the game like blindfolding. If you are alone, then you can invite your dog; after all, he is man’s best friend.
Read a non-gardening book or magazine.
To most people, reading a gardening book is not very relaxing. If you want to enjoy quality time in your garden, then put those gardening books away. Instead, reading a mind-blowing novel or the latest edition of a lifestyle magazine will do.
Catch butterflies.
This is a fantastic activity, especially if you have kids. Armed with a butterfly net, you carefully scoop these wonderful creatures. You may allow the children to caress them gently before finally allowing them to fly back. Give them a few minutes and begin the fun again.
Employ a Masseur for the afternoon.
Most hotels nowadays promote mobile masseur services. While it may not be a cheap service, it might just be the thing you need for that unforgettable treat. Most importantly, it can happen at the privacy of your garden at home.
Play with pets.
Almost all gardeners have pets at home. If you always keep them in the cage, then just allow them some free time to run around the garden and enjoy their time with you. However, you need to put in place some inescapable boundaries just to ensure that they do not become a bother to your neighbors.
Engage in some relaxation exercises.
If you have a ball or any other portable apparatus, then you may try taking it out to your garden or even set up a patio. On the same breath, you may also try some aerobics for a fun and enjoyable afternoon.
Entertain your friends.
Armed with plastic chairs, you may invite your close friends to play cards or tell silly jokes the whole afternoon. However, be sure that they are low-maintenance friends; those who can drop by at the shortest notice, take little effort to entertain and know the right time to leave.
