Recycle: Flower Arrangement Instructions

How to make a pretty present out of the flowers from your garden.
Flowers need not be reserved only for special occasions. You can give yourself small bouquets everyday. Go into your garden and use a little imagination.
Blooms like cadena de amor, cosmos, and Bouganvilla usually last for three days, but changing their water everyday can extend their freshness for few more days (as well as prevent mosquitoes from breeding). Do experimenting on using a variety if leaves- from ferns, palm plants, and bamboo, for example- for foliage.
Pretty Presents
Don’t know what to do with those plastic soda bottles? You can recycle them as containers on your flower arrangements. Wrap them with nice paper and your blooms are good to go as gifts.
What You will need
• Cut flowers and foliage from your garden
• Flower foam soaked in water for 20 minutes
• Transparent gift wrapper
• Ribbons
• Empty colored plastic soda bottles
Instructions
1. Cut the empty colored plastic bottle into half and save the bottom part. This will serve as your vase.
2. Cut the flower foam to fit inside the bottle. The flower foam will support the flowers you pick.
3. Wrap the bottle with the gift wrapper and tie a ribbon around the bottle to secure it.
4. Assemble the flowers and foliage on the floral foam. Remember to make your arrangement look more lush, foliage first followed by flowers.
There’s something about flowers that makes a home look oh-so charming and comforting.
