Butchart Gardens, British Columbia, Canada:

This garden in British Columbia has an incredible history. This place was a manufacturing unit of Portland Cements from 1888 till 1909. When the quarry was exhausted, Jennie Butchart, wife of Robert Pim Butchart got the idea of converting this quarry into a garden. Butchart Gardens covers nearly 55-acre with more than 700 varieties of plants. The garden is also a home for many birds like parrots and peacocks; it has a variety of bronze statues and much more. A must visit place if you visit Canada.

Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore:

Singapore Botanical Gardens cover an area of 157-acre and has a collection of more than 2,000 hybrids of orchids. This garden was first established in 1822, but was closed within 7 years. Singapore Botanic Garden was re-opened in 1859. Few attractions of the Singapore Botanic Garden would be the Burkill Hall and the VIP Orchid Garden, Orchidarium, Evolution Garden, Ginger Garden, etc. There is also a children’s garden by name “Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden” that has a play-area for children and is Asia’s first children garden.

Keukenhof, Netherlands:

Keukenhof is also called as the “Garden of Europe.” This is the world’s largest flower garden with close to 7,000,000 flower bulbs covered over an area of 32-hectares. Keukenhof was established in the year 1949. The tulips are a wonder to watch.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden, New York City:

Brooklyn Botanic Garden covers an area of 52-acre and is in the New York City. The specialty of this garden is “gardens within the Garden.”This beautiful looking garden was founded in the year 1910. The specialty gardens in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden include Cherry Trees, The Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, The Cranford Rose Garden, The Shakespeare Garden, The Alice Recknagel Ireys Fragrance Garden, The Children’s Garden, Discovery Garden to name a few.

Garden of Cosmic Speculation, South West Scotland:

Garden of Cosmic Speculation is a private garden created by Charles Jencks. You cannot see much of flowers or plants in this garden, but can see a lot of mathematical formulae, scientific phenomena, sculptures, artificial symmetry, curves, etc. Do you wish to see fractals, black holes, etc.? Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town:

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden was founded in the year 1913 and is the first botanical garden in the world formed to preserve the country’s unique flora. Another unique feature of this beautiful looking botanical garden is that only indigenous plants are cultivated here. This garden has appeared in the Chelsea Flower Show 33 times and has won 29 gold medals; this should tell us how beautiful and stunning this garden is.

    I wish to visit the one in NL in my lifetime, I think I may, one day, as my good friend married a Dutch and has migrated there, so I believe one day I may visit her (but not now).
