How to Make a Flower Bed Without Digging
Make Flower beds Without Pulling Weeds or Tilling.
A fun and easy way to make a flower bed almost anywhere. First look around your yard and consider where you would like to locate your new garden. It can be around a tree beside a fence or wherever you desire. You need to decide on the shape you would prefer.
If you have a old garden hose just make the shape, round , kidney shaped etc. Now rip up a bunch of newspaper.
Place the newspaper on the ground completely cover the surface inside the hose, then soak with water. Now add several inches of peat moss make sure the newspaper is completely covered. Then a layer of compost or triple mix then a layer of topsoil or black earth, about 8 inches each layer.
Now a thick layer of mulch, this will help hold down the soil and keep any new weeds from growing. Now you can plant annuals or perenials, the ones that wiil grow the tallest at the back, and shorter growning plants in the front.
Just plant them according to planting instructions and don’t worry about the roots hitting thr newspaper as these will decompose.
You can purchase plants at a local garden center and summer bulbs like dahlias grow well especially in a sunny area.
This is a form of gardening that is also known as lasagna gardening. Happy gardening.
