Dessert From China
This glazed banana recipe is from China. The bananas are best if served right after cooking. Feel free to add ice cream, chocolate, whipped cream or whatever your little heart desires!

Glazed Bananas
4 bananas
3/4 cups flour
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 cups peanut oil
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Peel bananas and cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths. Coat with 1 tablespoon of the flour. Combine egg and remaining flour, beat well. Add 1/2 cup water and stir until batter is smooth. Coat bananas with batter. Heat peanut oil until it is very hot, remove from heat. Add banana pieces one at a time to oil. When all have been added, return to heat and cook until the bananas are light brown. Drain the oil and set bananas aside. Combine remaining water and sugar in pan; cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Add the sesame seeds and stir until mixture is thick and syrupy; add the oil and then the bananas. Stir and cook for about 1 minute. Pour out onto an oiled serving platter so that syrup, as it cools and hardens, will not stick to platter. A small bowl of cold water is served with this dish. The diner picks up a piece of banana, dips it into cold water to harden glaze before eating it.
