Chelsea Flower Show

Chelsea flower show held every year in the month of May in the grounds of the Royal hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London. Chelsea flower show is apart of flower arranging and garden shows. It is a five day garden show.

The Royal horticultural society in London initially held the Great Spring Show in the Royal Horticultural society’s gardens in Kensington in 1852. later Chelsea flower show was moved to Chelsea and renamed as Chelsea Flower Snow in 1913. the Royal Horticultural exhibition was held in the Royal Hospital. Since Chelsea Flower Show takes place in Royal Hospital every year in May.

Initially Chelsea flower show was four day event from 2005 onwards it was changed to five day event. Chelsea flower show receives a lot of publicity. There are 150,000 visitors attended by every year. For the first two days only for RHS members later the Show is covered by the BBC and DVD also produced by Twofour. As part of Royal patronage, many royal families attend the preview of the show. The land size also has been increased over the years.

In the show new plants are launched and the popularity of older varieties revived under the horticultural world.

There are different exhibits of trees, flowers, herbs, vegetables, educational and floral arrangements are received different grades of awards. The different awards include best show garden award, best courtyard garden award, best chic garden award, best city garden awards and many more. The four different grades of awards are gold, silver, silver-gilt and bronze. The pictures and photographs are also exhibited as part of the show.
