Beginners who do this will grow a good bonsai tree that has a good thick trunk and delicately shaped branches, appearing as a miniaturized version of a larger tree.
Bonsai Tree Forms
Bonsai tree forms have different names. Bonsai tree form copies tree forms found in larger trees.

One bonsai tree form is called the broom form. In the broom form, the bonsai tree is grown to look like an upturned Japanese broom. Another bonsai tree form is the formal upright form.

In the formal upright bonsai tree form, no branches are allowed to grow from the front in the lower two thirds of the bonsai tree.
