Zero Tolerance for Exploited Children
Zero tolerance is what we must have for exploited children. Our children are not to be used up and tossed aside. A campaign has been started to find these children and give them help to start a new life, rather than jailing them or handing them back over to the pimps, which believe it or not ,has been the case. The public must act. If you suspect any adult of exploiting a child report it to the authorities at once.
Zero Tolerance for Exploited Children
The Juvenile Justice Fund has developed a program to help youngsters who are exploited and forced into the sex trade. But it’s up to the public to have zero tolerance for criminal adults who use our children. If you have suspicions of anyone report that person to the police or FBI.
I published an article sometime ago about the sex trade using underage girls in Atlanta and all over the state of Georgia. Now the Juvenile Justice Fund has started a campaign to address this exploitation of children. It attempts to show that these children are not criminals but victims of adult criminals. They hope to rescue the victims and help restore their lives. There has been no program in place to help these children before. They have been branded as criminals and sent to juvenile detention or when the system is over crowded, they have been turned back on the street. It’s a shame to every one of us who sit at home safe in our own comfortable world.
The Governors Office of Family and Children’s Services have recently committed to develop a statewide system of care so that any child who has been caught up in sex trafficking can be evaluated and treated for the trauma they have endured if necessary, the problem will be finding these children and bringing them in.
The media in recent months have raised awareness of the multitude of girls still being forced into prostitution. I say girls but boys are involved, too. More than 300 in Atlanta alone every month. That is the known fact and nobody knows how many more are hidden away who haven’t been discovered. And we can be sure they haven’t all been discovered. Atlanta isn’t the only place these children are to be found. The small towns have their share of exploited young girls and boys. Everywhere an adult male is perverted enough and has money, a pimp will be found to oblige him with a child.
Every office of law enforcement in the country should be especially trained on how to look for exploited children and how to address the issue. District attorneys have to understand we will accept only zero tolerance and we all have to take responsibility. The public will have to harp on this subject and remind the politicians at election that we want keep action.
The FBI is aggressively investigating sex trafficking in Atlanta and they hope to begin making some headway. But everyone of us should be so enraged that we look into every suspicion we might have of any child being exploited and call the FBI to report those suspicions. Any adult who would have anything to with a child sexually should be reported at once and sent off to jail. Let the judicial system know we won’t stand for it any longer. If any man suspects his friend or neighbor of abusing children he must be turned in to law enforcement. We can’t look the other way and let children suffer for these animals perversions.

It is about time something was done for these children. Those responsible for demeaning our children should be locked up for life. A very good post, Ruby.

It’s a very sad reality that should be stopped especially in poor countries. Very difficult to do though especially when those in authority are sometimes turning a blind eye.

The day we realize that our future lies in the hands of children will be the brightest day for the whole of mankind. We do everything for the future, but why deny our future generation their right to good living. Absolutely zero tolerance to child exploitation is required and those who do it intently should be punished by creating fear of future by educating them about the adverse effects.

It’s hard to imagine those who are so evil but they are out there. We should watch for them and get them in jail where they belong.
