Moms are always so worried about their babies – what happens when mom gets sick?
Moms, you roll out the red carpet for your little ones each day. When they’re sick, you cater to them around the clock. What happens when you get sick?
It’s hard to stay in a routine when you or your little one is sick. Heaven forbid you and your baby are sick at the same time. You’ll be too busy taking care of your child to see how tired you are.
Here’s a good rule of thumb to follow: You have to take care of yourself to take care of others. Make sure you’re getting rest, fluids and medicine if needed. When you’re able, eat nutrient dense foods. If you’re too exhausted and sick, you won’t be able to properly care for your child.
Don’t worry about the house. Let a few things slide. The dishes and laundry aren’t going anywhere, and you probably aren’t, either. Don’t worry about the little things – you and your baby come first.
Ask for help. Ask your significant other or a family member to watch the little one while you get some much needed rest. Ask someone to prepare dinner or get food delivered to your house if all else fails.
Getting plenty of rest and fluids can’t be stressed enough. Take a nap whenever you can and keep water wherever you go.
Try not to take medicine that will make you drowsy. It’ll only be harder to care for your child if you’re feeling loopy.
Do not hesitate to seek emergency care if needed. Don’t wait until it’s too late – better safe than sorry.
Until next time, live. laugh. love.
