Mean Aunts: A God-fearing, kind-hearted, generous-minded and charitable-natured people.
I have wonderful aunts that I can turn to and aunt to called Aunt Ellen, Aunt Jean, and Aunt Trining. A groovy kind of aunts, they are more of a friend than an aunt is, who almost adopted us give us comfort, and moral support. And I am very grateful to have them from the fact they are such a kind-hearted, God-fearing, generous mind, and charitable natured persons. They doesn’t even have the heart to say “no” even if they’re already being used and abused. These people evolve into the epitome of the modern empowered women, not afraid to take risks in life’s various aspects. Wonder women indeed, in balancing family, earning, and time. From tenderness to toughness. They’re not just fun-loving aunts, multi-tasking mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. These people were the ones who helped us, sent us to school. Some thus, are not the ideal student (like me) I mean it. I never liked school (some school shuts down) hard as it may to believe, it’s all true! I admit I was never the ideal student, to make up for it I worked hard, and give ways to my younger siblings. However, there are those, infairness, what they ought to be. I’m proud of you cuz!
Whenever the two coming home “balik bayan” from Germany we’re all glad to hand-downs the “pasalubong” don’t you think that was enough? They’ll tire you out with their limitless energy and shopping stories. Almost everyday they wanted to do some shopping even the credit card was almost swiped. How I would love to be with them does the bargaining. Even the trip from bicol to manila and vice versa, since I knew it was going to be a short flight (45 minutes or so away) without having trouble even stall impending doom…er arrival by feeling every minutes of the 12 hours (?) on the bus. Only a grating sound of the airplane and the feeling high float in the air and a little jet lag. They had lots fun catching up to do. The non-dying family gets together, mingled to one another after many many years apart. The videoke challenge, I assure you we literally brought the house down as if the house were a favorite concert venue on local and Hollywood performers. (Well, it only goes to show that good singing voice runs in our family) sumptuous dinner, they give you the most refreshingly enjoyable dinner of your life! A series of delicious dishes like a bunch of crabs with ‘big faces’, guinataan of squash and kangkong, fried chicken, pork adobo drenched in vinegar with garlic. And most likely the specialty bicol express and laing lots of chili. (I’ll assure you’ll fill your tummy sort of way), accompanied by a platter of fruit juices, soda and sweets. Enough to keep you full, which made us feel like a house pets, (hmmm… life is good for those suckers!) Plus an imported chocolates. Even late at night, I can’t resist fleetingly fantasizing it. Yummy! And thank goodness for them. They simply the best!
The real lesson here is not the pasalubong, nor chocolates or foods. These people show how kindness they are all year long, that means a lot! How can I ever thank them!
I looks forward to bring back both financially and in time.
I love you auntie!
