Tender Parenting

Thoughts and advice for parents who raise their children with love.

Oftentimes, parents worry about their ability to give their children a wholesome and well-rounded life. How do we nurture our children and help them to reach their full potential? How do we protect them from harm and help them learn and grow with good characteristics? We may not have the solid answers to these questions about parenting help, but the most compelling thing that we can do, is to become what we want our children to be.

Children have this innate ability within themselves–to grow upon what you feed their minds and hearts. We can help them most effectively by displaying good manners, speaking in gentle tones, and teaching them valuable life lessons of high moral standards. What you want your child to be, is what you must become.

Let us examine what this parenting principle is based upon. If we feed our children nourishing food, then their bodies will grow with health and strength. If we clothe our children with modest, suitable clothing, then their bodies will be protected from the environmental elements, and from the harm of undesired onlookers. When we feed our children’s minds with learning and education, they will be able to read, write and understand the information of the world we live in. Likewise, when we feed their hearts with morality, integrity, dignity, respect, discipline, and above all, spiritual and religious accountability–keeping immorality and its cousins at bay–we will see our children grow and develop, with knowledge and understanding, into people worthy of nobility.

This parenting advice is accomplished by elements that do not have a monetary value. No, you cannot purchase this from a Wal-Mart or supermarket, and no, it will not come through the television, the computer, or even at school. This comes from the ones that the child come from. If you have it, then possess it, and if you possess it, you will live it. The result will be a natural transfer of these values and character traits to your children, because it is what their home environment is filled with. Any parent who wants this, already has it. Every parent can reach within themselves to find the tenderness essential to raising children to true success.
