Stay Out of People’s Business

A reality check for the masses.

So I read some articles on here that mentioned the cover of time magazine. Apparently on the cover was a 26 year old mother breastfeeding her 3 year old son. That’s crazy! At the same time though, that’s her and her son’s business.

People are social beings and they will always make a big deal out of something. Whether it by gay marriage or a woman breast feeding her 3 year old son or something stupid like that.

Oh yes, who cares if two women or two men get married. What’s the big deal? It’s not affecting you and studies have shown that children raised by same sex parents are sometimes better off. This isn’t meant to undermine straight couples with children but it just goes to show that people’s ignorance is just that, ignorance.

As for a woman breastfeeding her three year old son, well that I do have a few qualms with. First, I believe there is a certain age to stop using the bottle and I would apply that to breastfeeding as well. Besides doesn’t the milk in the breast dry up at a certain point in time?

Still, what a person does in their own family is their business and as long as the child is healthy and well provided for, I don’t see the reason to make a big deal out of it. Of course, how healthy a 3 year old will be while still breastfeeding is questionable as I imagine there would be a lot of psychological implications. The very end result is “Not my kid!”

Since humans are social creatures and will complain about anything there will always be one argument or another over something trivial. Like abortion for that matter. Regardless of what your views are that is a personal matter and to interfere with that is just you saying “Hey I want to control you, don’t do it or do it!” Shut up and leave the person alone. It’s not your life, why do you care?

My question to every social issue is now the following:

“If it isn’t affecting you, why are you going to be selfish about it?”

With that said, good bye for now!

  1. Business, like it

  2. That cover picture really looked strange. I don’t think it’s appropriate to take a picture of a feeding mother, and especially if she is feeding a 3 year old son.
