Learn why it is great to live alone.
If you are currently living in someone else’s home, have you considered moving out? There are advantages to having your own place. You will learn reasons why it is great to live alone.
This is your chance to be on your own. If you do not live under someone else’s rules or rely on others to provide your necessities, you will have a sense of independence.
You will have all the time you need to deal with your problems and feelings. If you are sad, you can walk around the house in a gloomy mood and if you just want to use your time to think and come up with a solution to a problem, you may do so without interference.
If you want to hear what is on your radio or television set while you are a good distance away or move from room to room, you may crank up the volume and play them as loudly as you want, especially if you live in your own single-unit house.
You have more leeway to laugh loudly. I sometimes have to restrain my laughter while reading the newspaper funnies in the bathroom at night because my mom is in bed across the hall.
You may cook what you want. You will not have to cook a particular food as a result of having to meet your kids’ dietary needs or having to cook what your parents want to eat that day.
You will have the option to eat dinner and then wash the dishes whenever you want. My brother and I are supposed to finish cleaning up the kitchen by nine-thirty. Having such a relatively early deadline to meet can be an inconvenience if you need to stay out late doing something such as your favorite recreational activity or hanging out with friends.
You may eat how you want. My dad will not let me use a small-sized plate while eating dinner, no matter how small the meal is. I think it is ludicrous to have to use a large plate to eat one or two hamburgers.
You can get away with more stuff. I recently came home one evening wearing my boots. Noticing they had a slight odor, I sprayed them and then put them in my closet uncovered, thinking the odor was gone. Soon as I left the room, my mom smelled them and chewed me out. I do not like having a smelly room but if I was on my own, I would not have to endure so much grief when my room suddenly picks up an odor I may or may not smell right away.
You will have autonomy. You will be able to do what you want and you will have total privacy.
You will have fewer hassles. You will not have to argue with family members. You will not have to worry about shaving earlier in the evening to avoid waking up others while using a loud electric razor. You will have more time in the bathroom and you will not have to sometimes spend a lot of time looking for parts of the previous day’s newspaper.
You will have total control over your money. You will not have to worry about taking care of others or having them spend some of your money.
You have learned reasons why it is great to live alone.
