why you so critical to parents, its not because you tell lies, that you get liars, its beacuse you dont have time to speak to them. telling a lie is better than not speaking to your child at all. again there are some very harsh truth which even adult refuse to acknowledge. why not just let them enjoy their own imaginary world. and also enjoy yourself with them

Allow me to answer that. It is a commitment to something higher than you. Without that it is only "what I can get away with."

I know a lot of people who are not like this, most are born again christians...

As long as there is some thought behind the lie, it’s maybe ok, but mostly I found the excuse ‘protect the children’ to be the bigger lie than the one told to children.

Ok here goes: Firstly Santa does exist, I know I sleep with him.
Seriously, I think there are times when a slight detour from the facts can help a difficult situation, however, when the time is right then the child can be told, a) the reason they were protected and b) the truth. As parents we are not given a degree certificate,some parents do the best they can, sometimes they do not have the best role model to start with, their own parents and like myself have to find their own way. This is a tinderbox article, you lit the fuse Lucas now stand back
