Out of The Mouth of My 3 Year Old
Toddlers never cease to amaze me!

The other night my children and I were trying to decide on a movie to watch for family movie night. My daughter had rented Wizard’s of Waverly Place the movie, and the things my 3 year old son wanted to watch were things like Wonder Pets and Caillou. I have seen my 3 year old’s movies over and over again, so we went with the Wizard’s of Waverly Place movie.
My son was very adamant that he did not want to watch this movie. After kicking his feet and grunting in disapproval he was reprimanded and told that he could go play in his room if he did not want to join us for the movie. I then proceeded to pop popcorn, and once the popcorn was dished out we sat down to watch, my son included.
As the beginning of the movie started a picture of a giant mountain, the one for the movie company that I can not recall at the moment, came on the screen. He became very excited. I thought, hmm must have changed his mind. He, however must have been reminded of a movie he does like, because as soon as the beginning credits appeared on the screen and he noticed Alex Russo I heard “Awww man, damnit!”
My first response was to sternly say his name, but I could not hold a steady face. I cracked up laughing almost choking on a piece of popcorn. I know that I should have stopped everything and taught my son that that was a bad word, I couldn’t help it though. I had never heard him say this before and had no idea where he heard it. I also couldn’t believe that he actually used it in the right way.
Later that evening I had a talk with my husband. I found out that he accidentally said this while driving with our son one day. He didn’t find it as funny as I did, but still got a little chuckle.

That is why it is best for us parents to be a good model to our children for the value of what they see in us is twice the value of a good advice.

haha, yeah, it could have been worse. As parents it’s hard not to let one slip now and then. Once I was crossing a major road with my kids and we were almost hit by a car. I screamed out “Sh*t!” and my kids were shocked. I had to explain that it was ok to swear if you were just about to get killed, LOL.
