Ode to Mom
I made my mom a mother’s day card and this is what’s inside. :3 Read and enjoy. LOVE YOUR MOMS ALWAYS!
Like the title says,
happy mother’s day.
Today is YOUR day,
and though I can’t give
you everything I know
you’d love to have, I
thought I’d make you
a card instead.
First of all,
thank you for being you.
You’re one of my greatest
role models due to your
fun-loving personality,
intelligence, and
kindness.
I strive to be more like you
so people can possibly
love me as much as they
love you someday.
You’ve taught me so much:
to laugh at myself,
to take pride in who I am,
to respect myself,
to be kind,
and to be only myself,
because people will
like me for that.
You push me to do my best,
you inspire me, you encourage
me to live life and to be my
best self.
You let me learn my own
mistakes…
you allow me to grow up.
I respect and love you
so much just because of
these, and the silly
little things too.
You also calm me
from my hysteria,
help me with school work,
and provide me a listening
ear when I need it,
no two sense added.
You make me feel like
I matter in this house and
in the greater scheme of things.
A teenage girl needs this.
Mom, there is so much more
you do for me,
but alas, this paper is
only so big, and my words
could go on longer.
This is my semi-short
“Ode to Mom,” and I hope
this isn’t too sad of an excuse
for a card.
But now, whenever you’re sad,
stressed, broken down, or just
want a silly little thing to make you smile,
just open this card and read its contents.
Remember, you ARE loved,
appreciated, and treasured.
Also, remember this next time I
forget to do my chores,
which is likely to happen again.
I love you and happy mothers day!
