Modern Day Brady Bunch

The story of today’s family to help keep everyone inspired and looking for happiness.

Once upon a time in a far away land…Yeah, right. Reality check! Life just doesn’t work that way, does it?  Here is a story of your typical family in today’s USA, or at least from what I have seen.

Married young, parents young, divorced young, try again!  However this time you are not alone. You bring with you the only good thing that came from the relationship you married yourself into.

Children

…are so resilient! They will believe and trust you no matter what you tell them (at least until the age of about 12).  When you bring two families together it is interesting to say the least.  I remember letting them meet for the first time having no clue as to whether or not it was a blessing or a catastrophe, but we did it anyway.

Basically, we cut our space in half, doubled our grocery bill, noise level, and most of all the love in the household.  The kids almost immediately took to each other as if they always had been.  YEAH!

The Romance

OK, all is well with more important ones. Now, what about you? You are at an age in your life where “dating” is not exactly your favorite past time, but how else are you supposed to find your companion?

You decide a lunch date is the best way to start. Not a major commitment to be there for a long period of time. You get there and decide that this is the best hour of your life! Conversation, no awkwardness, and he is gorgeous! Dinner, dancing, music, utter happiness follows. Once again, YEAH!

The Next Step

The two of you decide its time to take things a step farther; no I am not talking about sex.  You decide its time to really combine the two little families into one big, and chaotic brigade.  It isn’t easy, it definitely isn’t quiet, but in the end it is exactly what you want. OH YEAH!

Lesson Learned

The point of my rambling, I guess, is to let everyone out there know that you are not alone.  We all make mistakes, which have their consequences. Stick to your guns. The old saying “becareful what you wish for” is way off in my opinion.  Make your wish, just know that you must be patient.  If what you want is really meant to be, it may not happen right way.

Be strong! Be patient! Be happy!
