Lost Without Their High Tech Toys

Since it is against the law in most industrialized and developing countries for parents/guardians to spank their children, a new form of discipline seems to have entered the disciplinary arena.

Although this method of doling out the discipline has been around for a while, it is fairly new to some individuals. What is it? One curious person might ask. Temporarily separating kids who misbehave from their line of luxurious items.

For example, where would most kids who have grown accustomed to their high tech toys be if say, they could not have an instant message conversation with their two hundred plus online friends, log on to their
MySpace
/
Facebook
page, play their video game or whip out their cellular telephone and call someone?

Most of them might find themselves apologizing faster than they ever knew they would for whatever impudence or wrong act was committed by them. And it might encourage some of these individuals who misbehave to appreciate their high tech means of communication more than they did before.

And although some parents/guardians might not like to punish their kids unless they have to, most people like the gadgets they have grown accustomed to using everyday.

Moreover, no one wants to be separated from his/her luxurious line of electronic items and communication devices. So if this method of discipline causes a child/teen’s behaviour to be less tantrum like and more manageable, maybe something is working after all.
