Knowing the Future of Your Children

Why do some children in one family grow up to be a racist, while in another family a child grow up to be unprejudiced? Can we know the future of our children?

There are some things we can know even though they may be in the future. Right now parents are unknowingly in some cases shaping the lives of their children.
Whether it is the lifestyle of the rich and famous, or the mindset of victim hood, children in such an environment are being affected.
However, today not everything can be directly attributed to the influence of the parents. The reason for that are some parents have and are allowing their television to be a babysitter for their children. As a result of that, their children are being programed just the way society wants them to be.
On the other hand, right now a father who is an alcoholic, is making a difference in the life of his children. However, it may not be a positive one. He is nevertheless, preparing his children for the future.
It is good to note that not all children grow up accepting the negative influences of their parents.
Some parents right now are teaching their children at an early age that it is okay:
- Beating your wife and your children, even with your fist is okay.
- It is okay to be under the influence of all kinds of drugs.
- Sex outside of marriage is a great thing.
- Getting a divorce for any reason is okay (even though in your vows to your spouse you said, ”until death do us part”).
- It is okay to lie to your spouse and your children.
- That all pornography is okay, child pornography too.
- That it is okay to steal, cheat and lie to get ahead.
- That it is okay to disrespect authority, whether it be the teacher in school or law enforcement.
- That it is okay to use profanity.
- That there is nothing wrong with incest.
- That it is okay to love or favor one child more than the other. (All though it has been said the one that gets the less attention may be the one who needs the most attention).
- That abortion is okay no matter the reason for it.

Long ago a prophet of the God wrote to ”train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
The point is there are some things that we will teach our children that will always be with them. Now that is not to say they won’t try something else, for some do. Nevertheless, because of the foundation which you have laid that will bring them back. That is from which this prophet is speaking, for he returned to those principles in his old age.
If a man teaches his son how to survive during hard times, will his son not act accordingly if hard times come?
If a mother teaches her daughter how to be the prefect wife, will she not act accordingly when that times come?
We know parents lie to their children, yet why do those same parents expect their children to tell them the truth?
Furthermore, when they do not tell those same parents the truth, the parents punish them.
Now children are growing up confuse or calling their parents hypocrites.
In some cases parents should take credit for their children behaviors.
A commercial aired some years ago about a father catching his son drinking (I believe it was) the father was outraged. The father began to interrogate his son, yelling at him repeatedly, “where did you learn that from?” Finally, his son responded back and said, “from you!”
By now you should have a good idea what the future will look like for you children.
Do you want your child to be a respectfully citizen in society? Or, do you want your child to become an addict because of your example?
Either way, you can and will make a difference. However, will it be a difference, which makes a difference?
