Keep Your Child Pool Safe

Keep your little one safe in and around the water. Follow these tips.

If you have a swimming pool at home :

1. Most important step to make your little one “pool safe” is to install a phone by the pool or keep a cordless phone nearby so you can call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

2. Make sure the entire swimming pool is surrounded by a four-sided fence that has a self-closing, self-locking gate.

3. Always keep basic lifesaving equipments like a pole, a rope and personal flotation devices by the pool and you should know how to use them.

4. Always keep toys out and away from the pool when it is not being used, because they can attract children.

5. Consider barriers such as automatic door locks or alarms.

6. Make sure the pool is surrounded by a four-sided fence that has a self-closing, self-locking gate.

7. Never leave furniture or other objects near the fence that would enable a child to climb over the fence.

8. Always be sure to remove the pool cover completely before using the pool.

9. If a child is missing, check the pool first. Stand at the edge and scan the entire bottom and surface, as well as the surrounding of the pool area.
