Importance of Values
We have to impart good values in our youth. it is a parental responsibility to ensure the quality of the person in what we call a child.
The past and present fashions, styles and dance are no better than good virtues. Whatever vision or mission a child may have is never greater than good values. There is no knowing, better than good values.
The world is not ignorant of good sense and values which weigh for wisdom. Human values are ever present in every activity we do and are put in sense by the world to determine the quality of a person that we are. Even those tiny issues contribute a sense of value in our lives, either positive or negative values.
Bad values contribute to lesser human values and poor personalities as good values contribute to the great human values and great personalities. We may prefer pleasure to pain, but struggle for achievement brings greater joy than pleasure. We cannot substitute achievement for pleasure; neither should our kids go for pleasure in sacrifice of their personalities.
We can prevent indigestible information from accessing our kids by discouraging them from bad media language, music with dirty lyrics, pornography movies and shows, alcohol, violence, irresponsibility and pornography like dressing.
We can not discourage a child a bad habit that we are practicing. If you teach a child that abusive language is bad and you are doing it, how will that child learn? Are we parents not supposed to lead by example? The example you set builds the character of another person, from what you call a child. The world is now building on human values. Most governments are discouraging dirty language by making it a crime. Sexually seducing dressing is being discouraged, as much as alcoholism, early sex and child violence. These are waste or discards of civilization. However, these waste are highly consumed by our sons and daughters and killing our civility and nation.
Good values for our young students will reduce violence, drug use, early age pregnancy, pornography life that is now an internet disaster, early sex, alcoholism, violence, disrespect and prejudice. This will improve school climate, student discipline, school safety, intercultural understanding and academic achievement.
Parents should be able to move their kids from schools where the child is being spoiled, the expense is irrelevant and it is good to understand the child; he/she may be the spoiler.
I have never heard it being said that the child is behaving like his teacher. But I have heard it more often said that he/she behaves like his mother or father….the reason being character. A child is likely to imitate the behavior of the parent, which contributes to the child’s character. The teacher influences a great deal the character of the student but that is not comparable to the parent.
Parents must be keen of their behaviors as the child picks its first values from home. A child can be influenced by a simple talk to behave likewise. If you talk about a thieves escape story before kids, mind how you phrase the words. The story may be so good for the child to wish he/she was the one being talked about. Out of such a story a value may be devalued.
