Ideas to Decorate Children’s Room

Children love to have their own bedroom which can be their own world. It is worth providing them with such a room which can broaden their outlook towards life, but still make them responsible citizens of the future world.

It is absolutely essential to let children know the importance of aesthetics and ambiance in their dwelling places, so that the same will be imbibed and lead them to be dignified citizens of tomorrow.

Hence, the responsibility of providing the right living room for children lies on the parents. There are several aspects to be considered before planning for the right bed room for your children, where they spend value time there and enjoy every moment of it.

Space

Children run about a lot and remain active till they retire for the day. The room has to be spacious enough to enable them move freely without any obstruction. Avoid protruding sharp edges lest they may hurt when children run about playing.

Floor

Durable flooring like vitrified tiles or granite flooring would be good for the children room. It is safe to provide a carpet in the room to protect children from being hurt from a fall.

Colours

Select the right colour theme for the room. It is always advisable to go in for pastel shades than opting for a dark one. Different colours have different influence on the minds of children and it becomes essential to ask your child for his/her choice of colour. A red wall and other furniture can make the child’s mind aggressive. Grey shade makes the child pale with less of activity. A light shade of blue helps in making the children calm and they can concentrate better. A shade of green is soft on their minds, invokes the thought process and makes them responsible. Dark and light shades have to be intricately used as co ordinates in the various inputs.

Furniture

The interior of the room has to be selectively filled with modern furniture, keeping in mind the child’s likes & dislikes. A suitable sized bed on a cot with moderate height, a study table with a study lamp, a stylish Computer table with a swanky chair are the ones children love to use regularly. Not to mention an LCD television and a DVD player placed in a neat cabinet. Essentially it is good to have a book shelf easily accessible where children can keep their school books and other books they love to read during leisure. Enclosed wardrobes to keep their clothes have to be monitored regularly as children tend, not to arrange their clothes neatly. Ensure there is enough space to accommodate all their play things like football, Tennis rackets, cycling helmet and other accessories like cap, gloves, goggles etc.

Lighting

Sufficient lighting has to be ensured in the room to keep the children active. Dim lighting inside the room makes the children feel lethargic and they prefer to stay indoors and remain uninterested. Allow plenty of natural light into the room. Early morning sun rays entering into the room may be inspiring to children which can pull them out of bed and bring them on to their feet.

Allow privacy for children as well, as they sometimes love to be on their own, for some part of the day, without being disturbed. Give them plenty of choices and make them decide how to decorate or arrange their room.
