How to Use Wikipedia for School Projects

Many teachers have banned the use of Wikipedia for school projects. This article will tell you how to properly cite Wikipedia without the teacher knowing you used Wikipedia.

Nowadays, Wikipedia is almost always reputable.  Teachers sometimes ban its used for one of two reasons, 1) they still think it’s not reputable or 2) they know it’s easy to use Wikipedia.  If you cite your sources this way you will be able to use all the Wikipedia you want without your teacher knowing.

Step 1: Search for your subject matter and find the page you need.

Step 2: Find the information in that page you need.

Step 3: After the information, there will be a super scripted number in brackets.  Click on this.

Step 4: This will bring you to a citation.  Not only is this probably a reputable source that isn’t Wikipedia, the citation is even predone for you.
