How to: Make a Ribbon Angel Ornament

Fun, easy ornament to make with kids.

To get started the supplies you need are:

  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Jingle Bells
  • 2in Thick Ribbon
  • Decorative Flower
  • Thread (color of your choice)
  • Stapler (with staples)

Step 1:

(Plug in hot glue gun so it can start warming up.) Cut two pieces of ribbon. One about 6-7 inches long and one about 4-5 inches long.

Step 2:

Pleat the long ribbon 7 times. Then Pleat the short ribbon 5 times. Cut off excess ribbon.

Step 3:

Fold the pleated shorter ribbon in half to create crease, then staple on that crease. Make sure staple goes all the way through. Now you can spread the pleats apart and you have wings.

Step 4:

Then staple only one side of the longer pleated ribbon underneath the wire part. Again, making sure the staple goes all the way through. Then, cut the wired portion above the staple off. Now, you can spread those pleats apart and you have the skirt.

Step 5:

Put glue on the staple in the wings and attach the skirt. Then glue the bell upside down being careful not to get the ball stuck in the glue to the other side of the staple.

Step 6:

Glue the flower in the front of the angel where the wings and skirt meet. Then, glue your piece of thread to the back into a loop for hanging on the tree.

Voila you have a Ribbon Angel for your tree. You can make as many of these as you please. Have a happy holidays!

  1. It sounds nice. But needs a pic of the finished product.
