Grandma! We are Coming’

‘The News

The sweetest sound of the sweetest words  are ‘Grandma we are coming’ sometimes its the ’sweet sms’ on the mobile’ , and much as Grandma is happy she is a bit worried too, her silent prayers are doubled.

Grandma’s role  as a mother being long over, has turned into the role of the grandmother baby sitter’ and above all a Kindergarten Teacher , the last one she simply  loves to play 

Hiding Things

Grandma must hide things which are made of glass-ashtrays, vases,cups-no more can these be within the height range of two feet. Tucked away is the pen and pencil tray and container mug, the small eraser sharpener and clip box, lest the little ones take hold and something goes straight into the mouth , nose or even ears.Oh Dear No! 

Sweets and lollipops

Sweets and lollipops to share must be handy.’Mom, no sweets, they create hyper activity’ the daughter reminded as she slipped quietly out of sight and out of the house to complete her -impossible -with-kids’ -shopping.Kids are fine and well mannered by natural instinct.Its only when their mother is in sight , they start the ‘huunnn mmmm  nnnooo” sounds, and the lying on the ground tactics.They are trained in such manouvers in getting what they want. Grandma wonders, from where do they learn all that?

For Girls MakeUp Cosmetics are a favourite

Girls like to check the lipsticks(if any)talcum powder for rubbing on the hands, clips and combs’and little bags and purses.

Boys want Car Toys

Toy cars are boys favourites and they will spend hours making ‘vvrrooooomm zooommm’ sounds and racing them on carpets, floors , walls rims, dining table edges and everywhere else.

Girls like to dance a little and listen to stories, boys hate dancing , war games are more interesting, and hunting and shooting is best.

 With ages between four to seven Spiderman is special and if the TV is on then its Dora and Deigo for all.
