Four Reminders I Learned From Dad

Father’s day is next month that’s why I miss dad so much.I am sharing some of his words of wisdom as my advance father’s day present to all fathers and even to all who love their dads as much as I love mine. May his words be remembered every time we see the word ,SAVE ,which are the first letters of the four reminders.

Before dad died, he told me some things that I didn’t understand. When it was his time to go, then everything became clear. I know now that he was just giving me some reminders.

I hope these things that I’ve learned would be of help to others.

Staying calm

Dad said, “Whatever happens, God gives us the strength to stay calm.”

Reminder 1: Whatever circumstances we are in even if we are grieving, God’s peace will embrace us.

Alertness and Preparedness

Dad said, “Be prepared and be alert.”

Reminder 2: Some things happen without warnings and the most unpredictable is death, so we need to be alert in order to be prepared to meet our Father in heaven.

Visit people while they are strong.

Dad said” People should visit their loved ones as often as they can”.

Reminder 3: It is really sad if we lost are loved ones and we didn’t even visit them while they were alive. We really can’t make up for the lost time even if we visit the cemetery everyday.

Every little thing matters a lot.

Dad said, “What little thing you do for the benefit of other people matters a lot.”

Reminder 4: The little things that we do that make others happy will never be wasted even if they don’t appreciate it. God smiles above and keeps record of all these little things.
