The “Georgia Peanut Commission” has not only a free educational children’s activity book on peanut farming they also offer a free peanut recipe book for adults of all ages.   Those interested in ordering these free educational books can obtain them in one of three ways.   Either by download from the “GA Peanut Commission” website, request them by e-mail or request them via U.S. Postal Mail.

United State Department of Agriculture Team Nutrition Multi-Media Toolkit

The USDA offers a series of free educational items about nutrition and combating childhood obesity.   The items include but are not limited to; DVD, CD-Rom, posters, handouts for adults, activity sheets for children, certificates of achievement and a delightful paperback book entitled “The Two Bites Club”.   To obtain the USDA’s free educational resources for children log onto the organizations web site and use the on-line order form.

U.S. Apple Association Activity Book

The U.S Apple Association has an adorable free educational activity book for young children entitled “The Apple Wise Guys: Wise to the Ways and Wherefores of Apple Goodness”.   This free educational activity book can be ordered in one of two ways; online download or by U.S. Postal Mail.

Organic Valley Activity Book and Magazine

“Organic Valley” has two interesting free educational items centering on organic nutrition; an activity book for children and a monthly “Rootstock” magazine for adults.   “Organic Valley” allows interested parties to order up to 50 copies of each publication at one time.   The items may be ordered online through the company’s website.   Included in with the activity book and magazine is great money saving coupons that are sure to please the frugally minded.

National Watermelon Promotion Board J. Slice Books

The “National Watermelon Promotion Board” has two absolutely adorable (and free) educational books about “J. Slice”, a quirky slice of watermelon who teaches children about nutrition through his adventures with the likes of such characters as “Professor Junk Food” and the evil “Lazee.”  

In addition, the board has free lesson plans and activity sheets to go along with the two free books.   Those interested in snagging a copy of either “J. Slice Rescues his friends from the Clutches of Lazee” or “J. Slice Saves the Planet from Professor Junk Food” can request them via e-mail.  The items can also be viewed in more detail on the National Watermelon Promotion Board website.
