Homemade gifts dad will love.
Father’s day is almost upon us. If you are like most people this year, you are cutting back on expenses and that includes gift buying. So, what can the kids give dad for fathers day that he will really enjoy without costing you an arm and a leg?
Chore Gift Certificates
Why not have your child choose five chores that they are willing to do for dad and make him a gift certificate book. This gift will fit any age child.
Younger children can offer such services as picking up things out of the yard, Sweeping off the sidewalk, and feeding the dog.
Middle aged children can take out the trash, rake the yard, clean up branches, and a whole host of dad friendly chores.
Teen agers can give dad certificates for mowing or watering the lawn, garden chores, and the all time most appreciated job, cleaning the garage.
All this gift takes is a little thought. Certificates can be computer generated or hand made. Dad will love being able to have a little extra time by simply redeeming the coupon.
Make Dad a Photo Shirt
Photo shirts really are great gifts for dads. It lets them brag about that special camping trip or the big fish they caught or that deer they shot last hunting season.
All you need is a one or more great snapshots of something that has meaning for dad, a tee or sweatshirt, some transfers, an iron and your computer.
Simply copy the photos on the transfer paper (when shopping for the transfer paper make sure you get the suitable paper for the shirt. Transfer paper comes for transferring onto white material or colored. Depending on your shirt color.)
cut around the printed paper, and following the transfer papers direction iron onto the shirt.
Before actually attaching the photos to the shirt permanently you might want to lay them out the shirt so you can plan exactly where they should go for the most artistic display.
Give Dad a Fun-Filled Day
Is dad a fisherman? Does he like to go metal detecting? Whatever dad likes to do give him a free day to it.
This can either be a day by himself, or in the company of the child giving the gift. If he is a fisherman, pack a lunch and have your child help, then either send dad off for the day, or accompany him on a fishing trip.
If dad is the stay at home and work in the garage kind of dad. Then let him do that too. The kids can serve him lunch out side or in the garage but otherwise, leave him have the day to himself.
Many times, if you ask your children for some ideas for making a father’s day gift they will come up with some great ideas on their own. If not, these ideas are a good place to start. Just remember this is his special day, and it will be made even more special by giving him the time to enjoy himself. He will appreciate the thoughtfulness, and love having a little extra time to himself.
