What ever happened to Sunday dinner at grandma’s house.
What ever happen to Sunday dinner at grandma house? As a child Sunday was a family day, A day the whole family would stop and spend time with each other, Remembering our family would all meet at grandmas house to have dinner and just tell how everything was with them. We would sit at the table for hours laughing and talk as a family.
Today family have become so busy that it is almost impossible to get everyone together sit and talk to each other. One of the problems are people now work on Sunday store are open, even banks now are opening on Sunday. Years ago most women were homemakers , but now most go to work just like the men do.
Times have made great changes in the way a family shares time with each other. The busy schedule of both men and women and children are so filled that family time ha been abounded . The family structure has changed that family don?t even have dinner together anymore. The cost of living have forced both moms and dads to have to work to get by. School kids come home after school to empty houses . Kids must fend for them self . Take out food has become for some family the way of life. Even helping each other has become a thing of the past .
As a child looking forward to Sunday and spending it with family was thing I looked forward to . Listening to my brothers and sister tell what was going on in there life to me was exciting. It also was a way to learn how to handle many problems that occur in life. If anything from the past should be return to our society it should be that Sunday once again become a day for family to get together and feel the importance of Sunday dinner at grandmas house
