How to get your children to succeed through the confidence of their own feelings.
Discovery:
Q- How can we help our children be successful in everything they do?
A- Teach them confidence, faith and to believe in who they are.
The answer seems simple enough, however we also need to look at how we may be taking this away from them. I know it sounds a bit contradictory, for as parents we do all we can to motivate, inspire and instill confidence in our children. So how can we be taking this great discovery away?
To answer this I’ll start with a quick story of my own, which is proving to be a large contributor to lack of self-esteem in the majority of studies.
My happiest moment came not once but five times; as I held each of my new born children their blue eyes gazed towards me, with my eyes fixed upon them, their mouths curled up towards their golden blond hair. It was in this one split second, with each smile, that was so astonishing to me. I had discovered my children were beautiful humans with their own personalities and feelings.
Sadly as my children developed into toddlers, still unable to speak, I left this moment of amazing discovery behind. I forgot they were their own person, with feelings and personalities. I became their voice, speaking for their feelings. Often as many people do, I told my child how they were feeling. I had no clue of the damage I was doing to their self-esteem.
Soon my kids could speak for their selves; I listened carefully as each child told me how he or she felt. However due to my building habit of speaking for them, and their facial expressions; I was unable to believe what they expressed to me. I was the parent, I surely knew better than they did. As I dug deeper into child development and child psychology, I found the damage I had done. My children had lost their self-esteem.
Even these little humans rely on their emotions and feelings for self talk, once we take away the belief in them, we damage their self-esteem. After eliminating this discovery of feelings from our child how can we give them back, and how can we prevent this all together with toddlers and parents?
Kidztar Publishing has developed a ground breaking book to build self esteem, using fifteen years of research and development from: Psychology, Neurology, and love. In their MirrorMeBook™ you will find personalized coloring pages starring your child. MirrorMeBook™ differs from any other personalized children’s books as they add a picture of your child to each page. The psychology behind the books comes in many forms. Taking a Chinese Proverb quote,
“Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.”
Kidztar Publishing’s MirrorMeBook™ brings this quote to life, giving a parent a fun educational way to get involved, and to involve your child in the discovery process of their own feelings. These books allow your children to convey their true feelings to the parent with no judgment, through drawing and writing. In turn the Neurology takes over here; In each child’s brain is a Neuron called, Mirror Neuron, this Neuron evokes positive emotion and feelings within your child. As the child sees their selves drawing a happy face, even when sad the Mirror Neurons begin firing inspiring happiness to your child.
