The following tips are helpful for pregnant mothers to bond with their unborn babies at the earliest stage. These tips are from on my personal experience and from my students who attended my prenatal training to help them connect with their unborn baby at the earliest stage.

In the past, most people do not believe in communication with unborn baby. They thought that they were quiet, isolated and unable to listen and respond to communication.  However, the recent improvement in science and technology show that foetus can respond to external stimulus and learning.  Studies show that unborn baby can learn and response when he or she is in the womb.

The followings are some simple ways to communicate with unborn baby:

Firstly, parents shall give a name to your unborn baby. When parents give a name to their unborn baby, it helps the unborn to fill their love and acceptance and develop a sense of belonging to the family. Foetus in the womb can hear and respond to outside stimuli six to twelve weeks into pregnancy. When you can call unborn baby by his or her name, he or she will respond to your call. Sometimes, he or she may give a kick to respond to your call. You need to notice the movement and respond from your baby.

Secondly, you can communicate with your unborn baby by talking to him or her as a person. They love to listen to their parents’ voice because it is special and unique to them. You can tell your unborn baby how much you love him or her.  You can make use of the loving conversation to connect with your unborn baby. You can also tell your unborn baby what is happening now and what is going to happen. For instance, when you pass by a shopping center, you can describe the setting of a shopping center to your baby.  You can also talk about the items that you are looking for and so on.

Thirdly, you can sing to your unborn baby. Singing is a best way to touch and reach your unborn baby. One of my students shared, ”whenever I sang a song, my unborn baby kicked gently to give me response”. You can sing nursery rhymes or make up your own song. Your baby love to hear your loving songs.

Prenatal training helps mothers to prepare for the arrival of babies. By naming, talking and sing to your unborn baby, you can bond with him or her at the earliest stage. If mothers apply what they have just learned about, they would be peaceful ,calm and loving during their pregnancies.

I hope that reading the above information was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing–the more you understand about any subject, the more you will be able to share with others.

  1. Your articles bring tears to my eyes. My baby will be born next month, and I did not know that I could sing to my unborn. This really worth trying!

    Great post!

  2. Dear Citra,

I suggest you sing whatever song that you like from your heart. Your baby will listen to it and feel with your love. During my labour, I sing a song to calm down myself and my baby at the same time reduce my pain. It works. All the best for your delivery. God bless you and your baby.
