Child Care
Child Care also called Child minding, baby care and preschool means supervising and caring for a child of age group zero to thirteen years.
Child care generally is a broad topic that covers wide spectrum of activities, contexts, cultural and social institutions and conventions. A child care institution requires care providers who have been trained extensively in first aid. These Care providers should be CPR certified. In addition to this drug testing, reference verification and background checks are a normal requirement.
In the Western countries or society it is a tradition for a legal guardian or a parent to take care of the child. The two types of options of Child care for parents who are employed are home based care also called the family day care or nanny care and centre based care that includes preschools, creches and day care. A licensed parent can also choose to arrange their own care giver or child care swaps/exchanges with other family. At home Child care is generally provided by friends, family and nannies. The bond between the children and the care giver depends upon the number of children at home.
Few years of Child care initially is very important and forms the basis of morality, education, social integration and self discipline. The term preschool is used to refer to the child centres that deal with children of age group three to four years. Preschool may be based in a family Childcare home, in a centre or in a public school. A family childcare is generally provided by a personal home care giver that makes the atmosphere similar to the child’s home. The parent should carefully conduct home inspections, interviews and background checks of the care giver’s license. If any complaints are registered against the care giver it will be documented and made available in the public record.
One of the most affordable child care options is the family care that offers a greater flexibility in terms of hours available for care. Family care also offers another advantage that it usually involves a small number of children allowing for a greater interaction between the provider and the child than it would be in a child care centre. The commercial centres for child care are open for a set of hours that provides regulated and standardized system of caring for the children. However parents can opt for a care centre that is near to their work place.
Irrespective of the Child care chosen, a care provider must provide the children with clean, light and bright areas to sleep play and eat. Care giving generally demands a lot from an individual involving high cost. The choice to be made for a child care is extremely a difficult task, which can also be traumatic for few parents. If the parent feels that a child is experiencing harm or may be at risk, they should discontinue the child care immediately. The child care if do not live up to the expectations of the parent or if is not working out well they should not feel shy or embarrassed in withdrawing the child from the child care.
