I have seen it happen to people. Something happens in the wiring of their home or they knock over a candle or they pour oil in a searing hot frying pan and flames flare up taking over their kitchen. Then the fire gets out of control and the house burns pretty much to the ground. This is normally an accident and there is nothing you can do about it when it happens except call the fire department and hope they can put it out before everything is consumed.

What happens when it is all over and you don’t have anything. You will have to find another place to live. Most people end up staying with family or friends. If you have your Bug-Out-Bag you will have provisions for the first three days. You will have a spare set of clothes. You will have snacks and water for a few days. You will even have a toothbrush and toothpaste to get you by for a while.

If you don’t have a place to stay and have to go to a hotel to stay for a while, you will be able to live comfortably for a few days. It will give you a bit of time to get things together before you you have to start spending money to put you life together. Think about it. If your house burns down on a Friday night, you will have to wait til at least Monday before you can get the insurance to do anything worth while. You have to wait til Monday to go to the bank. Needless to say, if you are not prepared, you might be miserable for a few days.

If you don’t have the money for a hotel room, you will be able to, with your Bug-Out-Bag, camp out somewhere. You can stay in one of the local parks or in the backyard of your burned down home. You may not be happy, but you will survive.
