Baby Showers

Thinking too far ahead when it comes to events.

So now that I’ve had a bit of a time adjusting to the fact that I will be a grandma in the near future, I just had to start crocheting a couple of baby blankets!  Not satisfied with just doing one at a time, I had to sit down and start on two separate ones.

And to top it off, while at the craft store, I ended up looking at all the invitations for the Baby Shower – so cute.  As were all the little trinkets and other party supplies.  Visions of a room festooned with balloons and streamers filled my head.  Platters of delectable goodies were being passed around while a table bearing gifts for the baby stood nearby.  Laughter filled the air and -

What?  Oh, yes.  So sorry.  I know; it’s way too early to be planning.  I just got carried away.  I was really in the craft store checking out supplies for a wedding cake that I was making for our local county fair.  And of course, the wedding invitations and other wonderful items were on the same aisle as the baby shower ones.  Fancy that!

For the shower, I have no idea how many people will be invited, etc.  Our house is certainly too small to hold such an event.  Most likely a nice restaurant or hotel.  Maybe a hotel with a lovely garden outside.  There would be flowers in bloom and birds singing outside; the sun shining brightly.  And there I go again.

How many other people are there like me who imagine all sorts of wonderful events happening?  Planning ahead, making lists, etc.?  I think there are probably lots of people.  Would the statistics show more women than men?  It would be interesting to find out.

But I’ve always loved to plan things.  Always have, always will.  Yes, it is indeed a most happy time!
