What would you do in the case of a hurricane where power lines are down, and there is flooding all around; will you be prepared? Now is the time to get yourself a Storm Aid Kit, including a first aid kit.
In the event of a storm or hurricane would you know what to do, most people who live in a hurricane prone area know what to do. Those of us who have never encountered a hurricane or a storm with power lines down, flooding and lost of electric power; need to get themselves a Storm Aid Kit. A first aid kit is one of the things in your Storm Kit.
Stay informed, if there is word of a impending storm or hurricane, get out and shop for the basic and then some canned items, remember while a hurricane won’t last forever; restoring power may take a few day to a week to repair damages done.
In your kit you should have water, canned foods, a flashlight, a radio and extra batteries for both the flashlight and the radio. During the storm stay put, don’t run any last minute errands it may be the difference in saving your life. If you are out at this time, be aware of power lines down, if you see them do not drive over them. If your familiar with areas that usually flood, don’t attempt to take those roads, you may not make it through. A really bad scenario is getting stuck in two feet of water, as a live power line comes down; so if you don’t have to be out there, don’t go. If this should happen just sit in your car don’t touch anything and pray for an emergency unit to arrive very shortly.

Staying informed again is very important, while running those errands the day before the expecting hurricane, gas up; make sure you have a full tank of gas. If the storm is severe enough when it is over there may be a need to evacuate the area, once an area loses power, the gas pumps are down as well.

If it is winter, and a snow storm hits and you loose power, get all you blankets out, put on sweat shirts, hats and glove; don’t attempt to start a small little fire inside the house, or burn charcoal for heat. 1st the fire may get out of hand and burn down the house; while using charcoal, you will be killing you and your family with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Try not to open and close your refrigerator too much, since without power everything in the freezer will start to defrost, once this happens it must be thrown away. The same goes for food in the refrigerator, after several days, everything will need to be thrown away.
Keep the door closed! This is a lot of food to see go to waste.

So be prepared, have a Storm Aid Kit, a first aid kit, and plenty of water and nonperishable foods, since you don’t know how long you may have to stay in the very uncomfortable condition.

We’ve come out with some new technology in Emergency Preparedness and I wanted to share it with you. As you know, having an ample supply of safe clean water is a top priority in an emergency. When a hurricane is approaching, its also typically the first thing to sell out at grocery and home improvement stores, so many people waste valuable time trying to find it, often finding the amount is inadequate and the cost is high. Preparation, as you know, is key.
2 and 5 gallon containers are too small, and larger barrels if you can find them are often cumbersome to store and cost-prohibitive to ship. We’ve solved all that. WaterSafe stores flat and expands to 55 or 65 gallons either in a bathtub or standing alone. Its also easily transportable.
We’re a Red Cross preferred partner, work with numerous CERT chapters and even Max Mayfield himself loves our system! Please click http://www.hurricanewarehouse.com to see our new line.
