How to Survive in The Wild, Without Anything But The Clothes on Your Back

You got lost when hiking and you don’t know where you are. All you have is the clothes on your back. No water, no food, no nothing. This is a guide that will show you how to survive.

Fire: The most essential thing in survival is a fire. To make with just wood can be tricky but it can be done.

You’ll need: a pile of firewood, string (shoelace), bendy wood, a leaf, a hard square piece of wood. (but it doesn’t have to be a square.)

How to make a fire: Take the bendy wood and tie the ends with the shoelace. It should look like a bow. Take a stick from your pile of firewood and wrap the bow with the stick. Place the stick and bow on the hard piece of wood. Place a leaf by the hard piece of wood. Now move the bow back and forth against the stick until you see little pieces of black stuff fall onto the leaf. Blow lightly on it until you see a flame. Place the leaf down and slowly build the fire with sticks. You now have a fire.

How to find and boil water: Water is everywhere. But finding a drinkable amount can be tricky. First look into the ground to see if it’s moist. If it is then start digging until you find water. If the ground isn’t moist keep looking until you find somewhere it is. Once you hit water, look for some container that can withstand heat. This can be tricky but it’s essential. Now take the container filled with muddy water and boil it over your fire. You now have water!

How to build a shelter: Shelter’s are important in survival and it’s always a good idea to build one. You will be building an A-Frame shelter, which is easy and will keep you warm at night.

You’ll need: 3 large sticks, 6 smaller sticks, lots of leaves (for roof), more string (shoelaces)

How to build the shelter:  Take two large sticks and set one on the left side and one on the right. Take 2 smaller sticks and tie them together to make an upsidedown V. Take 2 more sticks and tie it at the end of the large sticks. Now, with the last 2 small sticks, tie them together and place them in the middle of the large sticks. Almost done! Take the 2 large sticks and place one on either side of the shelter. Tie them. Now make a roof with the leaves. You now have a shelter!

How to find food: Kill animals for food. Eat berries. But only eat the berries that are blue or purple. Red are 50-50. Red berries that are in clumps are poisonous, but the ones that grow by singles are safe. You now have food!

This guide will help you survive. Being prepared is key!

  1. this is great know when i go camping and get lost like last time i could survive even better

  2. If you eat the “purple berries” from pokeweed, you will be in a heap of trouble. Parts of this article are simplistic and uninformed, and it should be pulled before someone gets hurt from the “advice.”

  3. i liked it
