Apocalypse Type Survival Plans

You can easily find that some survivalist have no sort of survival plan what so ever. I recently spoke with several that are in this frame of mind. They readily state that there are several reasons behind their mad thinking but the most predominant is that they claim to be one of those people who would least likely be able to survive in any sort of apocalyptic crisis. They readily admit that they are weak on the necessary survival principles and not as physically fit as they should be. They state that their ability to function rapidly and accurately in emergency situations leave much to be desired.

These people will admit that their personal knowledge concerning firearms is limited to what they have viewed on the television in the western movies and shows. They are profound opponents of driving particularly for long distances. They will readily admit that without our current civilization they would be useless and unable to survive.

Now my wife is a push button girl from way back. If it didn’t come with a remoter control or easily pushed buttons it didn’t appeal to her however, she has taken the opportunity to learn how to repair various things and even managed to replace an engine by herself in a small sports car that I once owned. Her survival skills have improved as a result of her interest in staying alive.

These people tend to have the mind set that there simply is no use in bothering to have a plan in place as they firmly believe that there is no surviving an apocalyptic situation. Their first thoughts are that one is merely staving off the inevitable end and nothing more. They do not believe that you can hide for very long before some other groups of crazies’ arrive to finish you off.

They try to keep everything as simple as they can. Their food storage may be very good indeed, they may have plenty of water stored up and these are the kind of people who will hope that someone else saves their current lifestyle for them.

As true survivors we can not afford to develop an attitude such as this. As long as we are breathing we have to look forward to hope of a new life. During an emergency situation it would be everyone’s responsibility to help in any way that they can. Unlike our disinterested friends listed above we must strive to learn all the new skills that we would need even without the modern remote controls and the advantages of our current civilization. Our attitude must be to look at each new day as just that a new hope for tomorrow.
