Recycle Magazines Into Home Decor

Find new uses for old magazines by recycling them around the house. Creative designs and useful crafts are easy to make from those glossy covers and thin pages.
Create unique household items or decor pieces from old magazine issues. A few craft supplies and a little imagination can recycle old issues into new and useful items.
Decoupage Frame
Use the colorful images and pages from magazines to form strips perfect for decoupage. Use glue to decoupage them over old wooden picture frames or other small items to create a colorful and glossy decoupage design.
Colorful Coasters
Cut magazine covers and pages into squares with four-inch sides. Glue the pages sandwiched between the cover squares in stacks about one-eight inch thick. Once dry, the thick and glossy covers and the supporting papers in between form a perfect coaster. Make it decorative by cutting covers with strong color or photographic schemes.
Paperweight Pieces
Use colorful small prints or pictures from magazine pages or covers (or create your own small collage) and form a decorative paperweight. Sandwich the image between old squares of craft glass, plexiglass, or glue beneath an old magnifying glass lens, then place on a table or desk.
Recycling an old magazine as a household item or craft project is a creative way to reuse your old issues and enjoy them long after the first read.
