Step Number 1: Disconnecting or Detaching the Downspout from the Gutter

You would first be required to detach the downspout from the gutter which is usually well fitted inside. Next, with the help of a screwdriver or a cordless drill, get rid of all the screws and pull out the downspout from the gutter.

Step Number 2: Drilling Out Screws to Remove the Downspout

Remove the downspout from the gutter by drilling out all the screws and the nails with the help of a steel drill.

Step Number 3: Removing the Old Gutter before the Installation

The removal of the old gutter needs to be done before the installation. Once the nails are removed, you would be able to see the old gutter. Remove it.

Step Number 4: Making Necessary Repairs

You need to make all the necessary repairs like repainting of the exterior parts with paint if required.

Step Number 5: Mark Front Board with a Chalk Line

Use a chalk to mark right along the front of the board, rising to about ½ inch for every 10 feet of line and keep inclining towards the drain.

Step Number 6: Assembling the Plastic Rain Gutter

Before moving the plastic rain gutter in its right place, assembling of the gutter is required. This would require the installation of end caps and the cutting of gutters to length with the help of tin snips.

Step Number 7: Protecting the Plastic Rain Gutter Clamps

You also need to protect the plastic rain gutter clamp which clasps the gutter in its right position with the help of cordless drill or a hammer and few nails.

Last but not the least, the most important step here is to assemble the plastic rain gutter in a way that it is fixed together. However, make sure that you do not put extra stress on the joints during the installation of the this gutter.

Lastly, after securing all these steps, make sure that you protect the plastic rain gutters with the help of gutter clips. Also, keep in mind that the installation of this plastic rain gutter can require more than one person to complete the job; especially when the installation includes long pieces.  Also, you can make use of a ladder or scaffolding while installing the plastic rain gutter.
