Can a Positive Attitude Help You Recover From a Minor Illness Quickly?
Grin and Bear it? No! Smile and you’ll feel better!
OK, OK, I’m over simplifying it just a little bit.
But when it comes to minor ailments such as colds, coughs, stomach bugs, cramps and other discomforting things i truly believe from personal experience that continuing with your routine in an albeit restricted way can actually help you to recover faster.
It could have a basis in science, I’m not sure as I’m not a Doctor, or maybe it could be the placebo effect, keeping your mind off the illness until the symptoms subside.
Usually if i’m unwell i keep to my routine as best as i can and i find i have to endure discomfort for perhaps a day, this would be if i have stomach pains or having to do to the toilet repeated times.
Not a bad recovery time, and i find that i feel more energized by not keeping to my bed during the discomfort, rather having a lay down only when necessary for comfort.
So do yourselves a favour, when you feel unwell, restrict your routine somewhat but persevere, rest when needed but don’t stay in bed all day, you’ll find you recover quicker, and have more energy in the days following your recovery.
