What’s for Dinner Tonite?

I always ask myself this question every time before preparing dinner for my family. I have to take into consideration the nutrients, what each of my family members’ likes and dislikes, of course the complexity and time needed for cooking the dishes.

I enjoy eating out but we can not afford to have this kind of luxury life style, and most importantly our health would suffer in the long run because often our kids would choose to go to fast food chains like KFC, McDonald, that would inculcate a very unhealthy eating habits in our kids at young age.

So most of the time I would prepare dinner at home during weekends and I always ask myself “what’s for dinner tonite?” just to have some ideas what to prepare certain stuff well in advance, for example, defrosting meat or fishes few hours before cooking time.

Trying to make sure we have balance meals, I always try my very best to include vegetable, meat/fish, in my cooking.  The most difficult part would be to consider what each of my family members’ likes and dislikes because there would be no point cooking something that they would not want to eat.

In order to serve dinner on the table as soon as possible, I always choose to avoid too complex and time consuming dishes.

Maybe you would like to know what’s for our dinner tonite, here they are, they are served with rice:

Chicken with cabbage, tomatoes and dried shrimps soup

Plain fried chicken fillets. Great to dip in tomato sauce.

Steamed Chinese sausages, the taste of this sausage is great but very unhealthy dish , my family love it, so I only cook it on request.

How do you find our dinner?

  4. We love western food a lot, my kids love to have meals at pizza hut, cos they love the cheese, however, I cook oriental food with rice most of the time. :D

  5. I like most of your recipes as the ingredients are easy.. quite similar to ours, only that I don’t like the steam sausage (lup cheong), as all the while I don’t like to eat that…looking forward to more of your recipes, thanks! (clicked liked it)
