Top Five Potato Dishes

These are my top picks on how to prepare potatoes.
I simply like the taste of potatoes.
Be it mashed or fried, I can eat it up in any way that it is prepared. So here’s my take on the 5 best potato dishes.
-
Chips
Taste the crunch. Now this is one potato product which is a staple in every household. Football, Basket Ball, Baseball, and Movies, you name it, potato chips are present all the way. Its like the “rice” of junkies, you can never get enough of its crunchy and crispy texture. Add to that the fact that there are many flavors to a simple potato chip and you got yourself a whole adventure of flavors.
-
Fries
Need I say more? Let’s see, a burger, coke and fries. That’s a common line for fast-food chains, actually, it can now be considered as a quote. Be it twisted, wedges, shaken or classic with salt, this dish clearly is a massive force in the fast food industry. This is one dish which would definitely never go out of style.
-
Mashed
This dish is simply a classic which is always seen in almost every American home (especially during dinner). Other than that, it is also present in every possible fast food chain (or so I recall…). Let’s see, smooth and creamy potatoes prepared with milk, herbs and spices, and topped off with gravy. Currently, we have many variations when it comes to this type of dish.
-
Baked
One big potato, baked to crispy and creamy perfection. It’s like eating the three listed above in one single dish. You get the crisp texture of the French Fried Potatoes mixed with the creamy consistency of the mashed potatoes. Extra cheese and bacon please. It’s like having a party in your mouth; you get a little bit of everything.
-
Grilled
Grilled potato wedges complete the outdoor celebrations. The smoky flavor of the potatoes as they come off the grill is really something to look forward to in every meal. Think of it this way, French Fried Potatoes less the oil.
So there goes my fascination with potatoes. This is simply one of the things I couldn’t live without.
