Spruce Up Iced Tea with Sweet Summer Flavors
Iced, tea, a classic summer beverage, can take more than just a pitcher and a pile of crushed ice. Add zest to traditional iced tea with a few sweet ingredients.
Traditional brewed iced tea is a summer treat in itself, but if the classic recipes isn’t your cup of tea, spruce it up with some sweet natural flavors. Whether you love zesty citrus or fresh sweet fruit, these concepts will dazzle guests and sweeten up your summer.
Frozen Fruit Cubes
No matter the flavor of tea, sweet fruit-flavored cubes are sure to add frosty flavors from the summertime harvest. Chop or fresh fruit and fill ice cube trays with the pieces as well as fruit juice, Sprite, or ginger ale for a fizzy touch. Fill the individual glasses or the pitcher with the cubes, pour tea, and enjoy.
Lemon Zest
Add a touch of lemon zing with natural flavors. Grate lemon peel into fresh-brewed tea and pour over crushed ice and sliced lemons. For extra flavor, add frozen lemon juice cubes to each glass before pouring. Trim each glass with a sugared slice of lemon to the side of each glass.
Peppermint
Turn your tea glass into a chilled minty paradise with fresh peppermint leaves. Layer crushed ice with peppermint leaves and add a few leaves to the fresh-brewed trees while still hot. Peppermint candies made with natural flavors can be mixed with ice for flavor and color. Trim each glass with a sprig of mint.
Sweet summer tea is a refreshing choice for hot afternoons, especially with natural flavors like lemon or strawberry. Treat yourself and your guests to a cool new twist on traditional iced tea.
