Did you think that all vodka is more or less the same? Not by a long shot! Here are some of the most outrageous luxury vodkas strictly for connoisseurs.

Gold Flakes Vodka
The “Gold Flakes Supreme” is ultra-premium vodka produced in France. It is quadruple distilled using crystal clear underground spring water, however the basic ingredients are unknown. What’s unique about this drink is that we can see 24-carat gold flakes floating in it. The Gold Flakes Supreme will be imported and marketed in the U.S. by the Shaw-Ross Importers. The beverage costs around $60 per 750ml bottle in selected outlets in the U.S.

DIVA Premium Vodka
“DIVA Premium Vodka” is triple distilled vodka produced by the Blackwood Distillers of Scotland. The drink is unique because it is filtered through a sand of crushed diamonds and gemstones. And also, in the middle of each of the bottle we can find precious stones, including diamonds. The price per bottle is between GBP 2,000 (equivalent to $3,700) and GBP 540,000 (equivalent to $1 million), depending on the choice of precious stones used in the bottle, which is probably the most expensive vodka in the world.

Gun Vodka
The “Tommy Gun Vodka” is produced by the Alphonse Capone Enterprises of St Charles, Illinois, US. The unique feature of this drink is that it is bottled in a machine gun shaped 750 ml glass bottle. It is also thought that it would be cool if the company could fit the said bottle with a pump and trigger so that you can actually shoot the drink into your glass or straight to your mouth (hmm…that’s gonna be fun). The product has been in the market since 2005 and has been selling in some states in the US and all Army and Air Force bases. The price is around $50 per bottle.

Tubed Vodka
The “Go Wodka Extreme” is possibly the world’s first drink in toothpaste-like-tubes. The drink is packed in a 190ml tubes in three flavors, i.e. Cranberry, Lemon and Energy. Currently it is only sold in Austria and Germany.

Garlic Vodka
This unique garlic flavored vodka is produced by the Vodochnaya Artel “YAT”, a Russian distillery. It is actually part of a new product line of strongly flavored vodkas better known by the company as “bitter nastoykas”. The company has also released horseradish flavored vodka. It is said that the drink compliments and enhances the flavor of certain dishes and is also believed to help prevent a cold. Perhaps it can also keep the vampires away.

Cactus Vodka
The Mogollon Brewing Company and Arizona High Spirits produces by hand crafted distilling what is thought to be the only prickly pear cactus flavored vodka in the world. It has a slightly sweet taste and is pale pink in color. The cost of the drink is about $30 per bottle.

Yin and Yang Vodka
The “Twistee Shots” uses the Yin and Yang concept. They come in twisted plastic 25-ml shot glasses that deliver two separate flavors in one shot. One side contains a creamy vodka-based vanilla spirit and the other features one of two flavors, vodka-based strawberry or butterscotch. The drink is marketed by the Independent Distillers USA and costs around $12 per 8-pack.

The gold is ment to be drank with the vodka, it is suppose to have the same effect goldschlager does. It is suppose to cut your throat in very tiny areas so that the vodka in this case can enter into the bloodstream quicker for a faster drunk. You do NOT feel the cuts, it doesn’t hurt, they heal over with in an hour. Just be careful because once u drink this anything u drink after it for an hour goes right to the bloodstream.

i am sure that spring water is not spring water until it springs on the surface…. that is just normal old groundwater…. like Dasanni.
Also:
i would not spend 3700 dollars on a diamond filtered water vodka when sand does the exact same thing. and if i wanted a gem i would either, go and find one or buy one from a gem store, not peeling it off my vodka bottle, puking in the toilet after i drank the entire thing to get said stone.

Only the 2nd one, DIVA, is out of the price range of the average person. It’s the only “Outrageous Luxury Vodka” listed here.

The gold flakes DO NOT cut your throat; that is an urban legend. The gold flakes are edible, but can apparently cause allergies in some people.

These are not “better” vodkas than Smirnoff of Polar. They are just gimmicky and strange. The vodka itself is not premium, just the packaging and marketing. I would never serve any of these in my bar (except for the gold flake, which we use to make one particular drink for women who want to pay too much for something that tastes like sugar). Bottom line: there is very little difference between vodkas, because the end goal when distilling a vodka is to remove all taste from the drink. Thus, the only way to judge any difference is in the “mouth feel” of the drink. It is a rare day when I meet anyone who can differentiate the mouth feel between brands. If you are looking for a premium brand, just grab Stolichnaya and be happy.

The first picture is of “Danziger Goldwasser”, a (or an) herbal liqueur with gold flakes in it. You can get it in grocery stores in Germany for around $10 per bottle (the kind in the picture).

Another bit of trivia, the gold flakes in the vodka are properly called “gold leaf”, and are only 2 atoms thick. The actual amount of gold in each bottle is mind-bogglingly minuscule; Wiki Avogadro’s number to truly appreciate.

Most probably the pic was provided by the publisher for illustration purpose. The writer mentioned “Gold Flakes Supreme” vodka and NOT “Danziger Goldwasser”. However, I agree that the title is a lil misleasding as only 2 or 3 products mentioned here are in fact “strictly for connoisseurs”. Perhaps publisher or the writer can change the title. Thank you.

I’ve drunk the gold vodka – the gold flakes are edible! Didn’t remember to check if my poo glittered afterwards. Or if my golden shower was more golden than usual. Har har.

Ive had the prickly pear many times and have been to the pub that makes it. It is one of my favorite vodka’s, with tonic it is great. If your ever in Flagstaff, az stop in mogollon brewing co. their beers are also outstanding.

any adult should at least know what vodkas are considered premium. if you walk into any liquer store just look on the top shelf. there you will see stoli, level, absolut, etc. and my personal favorite grey goose. these are not rediculouly priced but are commonly recognized as the best vodkas.
ps: there is currently less than a tenth of a gram (0.1 g) of gold flakes in a 750 ml bottle of Goldschläger, which, as of February 5, 2007, amounts to about 2.10 USD on the international gold market.

the only price tag for the bottle of the DIVA one should be in this article.
there are much better vodkas, than the ones mentioned here. there is no luxury in vodka – because it’s a somewhat simple process to make and you shouldn’t be paying more than $60-90 per 750ml bottle (unless you actually buying a bottle or some stuff that they put in).

The AZ Prickly Pear vodka is really good. It makes a great Cosmo, or on the rocks is excellent. Arizona High Spirits Distillery also makes an unflavored vodka. Haven’t had it. I love Belvedere as well, but this High Spirits holds its own. Having had this, I think it might be the least “gimmicky” of any of these.

Tasted goldwasser for the first time tonight its a beauty sits on your tongue and lips likes syrup and releases a nice warm feeling but not horrible aftertaaste like things like smirnoff etc. It’s one you have to try its a great enjoyable drink
