Pine Nut Cresents
Another favorite cookie.
From 1001 Cookie Recipes Bu Gregg R Gillespie
1 cup vegetable shortening
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange flower wsater
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped pine nuts
3 Tablespoon warmed honey
Preheat oven to 325F degrees Lightly grease 2 baking pans
In large bowl, cream the vegetable shortening and brown sugar beat in egg yolks and vanilla extract. Beat in the orange flower water and orange zest. Gradually blend in flour
Pinch off walnut sized pieces of dough and form into cresents and place the cresents 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets. Push a few pine nuts into cresents and brush with honey.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly colored Transfer to wire racks to cool.
